Deep Beneath the Surface: A Hidden Chamber, Bronze Jewelry and Ancient Gold Coins
Some finds start with a single signal. This one started with a void. A customer in Iran used the Delta Ranger to trace an underground cavity, and what he uncovered over the following weeks reads like a chapter from an old treasure chronicle: a chamber about 11 meters below the surface, ornate bronze jewelry and two groups of gold coins.
Following the Void Instead of the Metal
Underground chambers and tunnels rarely announce themselves with strong metal signals. Often there is little or no metal inside them at all. That is exactly what made this search special: according to the finder, the Delta Ranger clearly indicated the cavity even though very little metal was present.
He followed the indication and reached a chamber, possibly part of a tunnel system, at a depth of around 11 meters below the surface. For anyone searching for hidden rooms, this is the decisive moment: you are no longer guessing where to dig, you know where the structure lies.
Bronze Jewelry at 3 to 4 Meters
The first finds surfaced at a depth of 3 to 4 meters: a collection of massive bracelets, rings and pendants with a deep green-brown patina. Several pieces carry engraved patterns and spiral decorations, one round pendant shows a finely worked relief. Each object tells of craftsmanship from a time long past, and of people who wore this jewelry with pride.
Gold Coins from Centuries Past
Next came the moment every treasure hunter dreams of: seven gold coins, still shining after centuries underground. Their stamped figures and inscriptions are clearly visible. According to the finder, the coins are several hundred years old.
The Deepest Find: Two Coins from the Bactrian Region
The most remarkable discovery lay deepest of all, at 10 to 11 meters below the surface, at the level of the chamber. Here the finder recovered two gold coins that he attributes to the ancient region of Bactria in Central Asia. One shows a standing ruler figure, the other a deity next to a bull, both framed by an inscription along the rim.
Finds from such depths are rare. They show what becomes possible when you can locate a cavity first and then search it in a targeted way.
What This Find Shows
Three find layers, one search area: bronze jewelry at 3 to 4 meters, a chamber and gold coins at around 11 meters. The decisive step was recognizing the cavity itself. Once its position was clear, every further step followed with purpose.
